Can someone find my home address using my IP address? No — not without a court order. Your public IP address can reveal your approximate city and your ISP (internet provider), but not your home address or personal identity. Only your ISP has the records linking your IP to your account, and they only release that under legal compulsion.
Why does my IP address show the wrong city? IP geolocation is an approximation. The city shown is often the location of your ISP's nearest data center or routing hub, not your actual city.
